The Story of Povl II
"My dear little village, why are we so violent today? For I have come to bring you good news! Would you not hear it?"
At this the villagers quieted, for as scared and violent as they were, they were frightened of the Ony before them and had heard many tales before.
"My dear little village, today I come to broker a deal with you, once which will be most beneficial to us both! Surely you have heard of and see Famdy lurking about the woods?"
And the villagers nodded, indeed, many of them had seen the Wild One.
"And have many of you not worried in your homes of the danger she may be? Do not deny that you greet her with eyes as frightful as the eyes you greet me with! You may be honest, I will not anger! I, too, would be frightened by myself. But today, I come not in anger or malice, Today I come to make a deal with you who have been so patient as to listen to me!"
"For I will take care of this Fadmy of yours. I will make her as you are, that she may possess no further potential harm to Cississling, no more potential harm than any of you possess towards one another, for it is indeed the poor way of our world to be most grievous towards our fellows than to engage in comradeship. But nonetheless I engage you!"
"But what of her guard? We have noticed peace and prosperity since her appearance, would not such things be lost when she came as one of us?" They inquired.
"Worry not, my friends. For her spirits are an intrinsic property of her being. I can work magic about her to remove her threat but not remove those spirits whose good will you have so long enjoyed, and well deserved, I might add." Qeosi was quick to answer with a great grin.
The village huddled. "We cannot trust him, as the leader of the Ony. On the other, we have no solution ourselves for she does elude us. Perhaps we can argue a deal as he says, but perhaps not." They mulled over themselves as to whether they could trust his word. Qeosi sat far beyond them, grinning brilliantly, relaxing and sitting upon a barrel. His gaze was fixed upon them. "His looks seem to betray a design on us," some noted.
After much deliberation, it was decided that, for whatever his faults, it might be best to take Qeosi on his offer. If Qeosi had been in a superior position, he would not be bartering with them with such silly (yet potentially dangerous) sprites like Fadmy. And what could he possibly ask of them? His deal might not be that harsh.
"Qeosi, you devil, we take you up on your offer. You shall make Fadmy harmless to us. What do you ask of us in return, then?"
"I ask only that you let my people live alongside you as equals in your village. For we have many who cannot live the life we are resigned too and are in need of rest and a place to retire."
"We are idiots! You remove one danger to expose us to ten more! No deal!"
Qeosi had expected this, and at that moment demonstrated to the villagers the Ony who he would have walk among them. And at once children, women, and elderly, the scared and the maimed came from behind him. And the villagers' hearts melted at the sight of them, and they quickly gave in, for who could possibly deny such people quarter?
"Also, I have but one more aspect to add to our little deal..." Qeosi added.
"Would now suggest we surrender our homes as well? Or perhaps our possessions? What more do you ask of us for a singular act of yours?"
"I am sorry, my friends! Please, calm yourselves for it is just a small favor. For when I do work my magic upon Fadmy, you must not call her Fadmy. For to do so would undo the magic I am bounding unto her. So, above all else, do not call her by your pet name for her. Instead, I ask of you to call her 'Povl' for she is, indeed, most curious in more ways than one."
And the villagers agreed among themselves that this was reasonable, in fact, a necessary aspect of the magic of the deal. And so the deal was struck.
"Good dealings, my friends! Now, let me retreat and do my work. Rest assured, it is the very finest, as expected of those who managed to nearly defeat your people many years ago, for we are still mighty!" With this he laughed and disappeared into the woods of Ritch. The villagers felt fear at his words as they did recall the great war of their ancestors.
So it was.

The Story of Povl
Okasus, the blue devil, reaped much of their warring. And many were de-rezzed.
The Akelhians, suffering their shame, shied from the grid and so their fighting rarely harmed others. They could not bear to witness the happiness of others in their gloom. And who could when one is forever beyond the mercy of Nhim?
However, one among their number braved the wilds of the land created in the soft and fleeting afterglow of the femur. Her name was Povl, after her manner of curiosity and kindness. Povl was deeply saddened by the constant war, even after Nunchuck passed judgement. She did weep each time Okasus came to pass his judgements, never upon the ever Akelhians but upon those avatars and Ony.
And so she left the remnants of the Akelhians to escape such sadness. She left no note and no indication of her absence. And yet strangely this in itself caused hope upon the Akelhians that perhaps finally Nunchuck forgave them, one of their number, and finally pass into the hallowed and sacred tower of Vivenshia. In this way did Povl help her people, although unknowingly.
For some time did she walk to cover the distance between their perch and the nearest lights of civilization. If it were not for her immortality, she surely would have perished along the path, for it was long through desert where none but the hardiest cactus grew and even nights were uncomfortably hot. And yet the isolation and silence helped her spirit for hopelessness and the drudgery that accompanied her former home no longer hung over.
But her journey was not over yet. And for many days it was not over. For almost a week it was not over. But through it, she continued. Gradually the desert gave way to sparse grasses, and then stretched plains. Slowly the land yielded to life. Povl was in good cheer to be privileged to such a wonder and that the grid should have recovered so well. She could not help but laugh and play with the gentle winds on the heads of the hills. That such things could have been built and scripted!
Such was the times, so removed from the Great Eras of Enlightenment and the horrid War, that as some found Povl in the field they did not recognize what she was and took her for a strange new visitor. With wary eyes they peered from their homes fearful of attack. In those days, as the Linden and Griefers flooded in the absence of the Akelhians and Grievers the land while recovered did know of battle, blood, theft, and sadness moreso than ever.
Such was Povl's reception into this village of Cississling in the province of Ritch. Povl, for her part, drew shy around the village afraid of their reaction. The history of her people, however distant they were, resided in her heart. An invisible barrier covered both their hearts. But not for long.
As Povl hovered but never truly revealed herself, they thought less of her and gradually cared little. When such talk did circulate, it was what the silly girl of the wild was lurking about. No harm came, soon none was expected. Parents still kept watchful eyes on their children for fear of a roused danger from the Wild Girl. They nicknamed her "Fadmy", which means "wilded one". There were tales of Fadmy coming and helping those lost in the small woods nearby, and of her strange dance to encourage crops, and of mysterious barrier she must have, for Cississling remained peaceful and free of terror for some time.
Such tales were false. Povl did little more than play about the village. She did not trust as easily. But so desperately did she want to be equal and live among them who always seemed busy and full of life and love. So desperate did she covet what they took for granted. But never, as long as she carried the sin of the Akelhians, the sin of ignorance and failing Nunchuck's Will, could she ever truly fit in.
Where ever there is a need, there is someone else to fulfill it. Qeosi's people, scattered across the world as they were, heard news of a being hiding in the woods. Qeosi wondered what spirit could be lurking there in Ritch and worried that a new demon, perhaps worse than Okasus, was to show up and threaten them. He took it upon himself to sneak into Cississling and investigate for himself.
In the village, well disguised, they told him the tales of Fadmy.
"Who is this Fadmy? What business does she have here?" He asked. None could answer. They could only reply that she meant no visible harm and had flirted with the edge of town for many weeks now. Qeosi was intrigued. Now he had to find and confront the girl himself. He knew no fear of phantoms hiding in the trees. And so he hid and waited for Fadmy to reveal herself.
After many hours, Povl managed to lurk near him. As she gaily fluttered about glancing in the windows to sneak a peek at its inhabitants, Qeosi crept behind her. He was waiting patiently and observing. Whenever it seemed someone was close, she would flee quickly and often did Qeosi have to lie still to avoid being seen.
Povl wandered into a cornfield and gleefully toyed with the crows. As they squawked in protest, Qeosi made his move upon her.
"Have the crows, too, committed some vile crime? Do you hold a grudge against them thieving food just to survive?"
Povl wheeled about in horror. What does one do when the leader of your most vile enemy visits you in the night all alone? She shrieked in horror, "Oh Qeosi! You terrible demon! Crows were set loose by Nunchuck Nherself and to Nunchuck they will return. But your race sprang from the greed and hate of this gird. Do what you must, I expect no less of you."
But Qeosi was shrewd. To have a single Akelhian drifting near a village so often and almost hauntingly close to simple residents is more than unusual. No, he saw the desire etched into her face and her actions. Of course, he could not allow her to continue for he could not find it in himself to forgive the Akelhians and the evil they caused by their attempted genocide of Qeosi's children. But he could see a way.
"My dear Fadmy, do you realize that is what they call you down there? Fadmy! The Wild One! They whisper many tales about you. Surely you would like to hear them?" He said with a laugh. "But, you will never show your face, will you?"
Anger welled in Povl. "Never could I, for how can I when my mark shall be known? Just as you are spotted for what you are, so am I. And never can they trust me and the failure of my people, nor should they. No, it is not my place to know their joy and sadness anymore."
At this, Qeosi beamed. "Why, I knew Akelhians were brave and foolhardy and of course vile, but never did I think them idiots! Surely, you believe the lies of Fi-Suu and his cronies?"
"Fi-Suu has long left, but his successor Fi-Miil is more wise than he, and he has confirmed that our curse is immediately visible to all. I could come close before they would run at me with weapons and death in the hearts and minds."
"But, my dear fool, there are ways we can fix that," Qeosi said, holding out his hand. "Would you trust an Ony? Trust Fi-Suu, who led you into War and Despair, Trust this Miil who speaks of unbreakable signs, Trust everyone but me? Surely, just once, could you give me your trust?"
"And why should I trust you, you who would sacrifice your nobility and honor to save your skin?" Povl said dismissively.
"My friend, it has been considerable time since we faced each other down in combat! We have long settled that and I had always hoped our little forays into your homes were but perceived as childish pranks, as we do. I have come alone to you, I trust you that much. Trust me?"
Povl wondered what evils he hid. But behind her mind was a small voice, and it said to trust him. Qeosi did not get to his position by being a powerless and foolish liar. And what of dealing with an Ony? Was it any worse abandoning her people without leave and scaring the villagers with tales of wild women hunting about? She closed her eyes. So much sin she had added in such a fraction of her life.
"I will trust you."
"With your every breath?"
"Yes."
She could feel the filth peeling from his breath as he cackled to himself. She could feel it caking into her heart.
"Show me the way that I may join them."
And so Qeosi took his new ward with him to his home. As they came down, several of his fellows came and spit upon Povl's feet, and cursed her for daring to show among them. But Qeosi quelled them. In his humble splendor, Qeosi sat Povl in front of the burning fireplace. The particle ash danced excitedly into the room and up the flue. She patiently awaited her fate. She did not truly trust him.
"You do not truly trust me," he said, mocking her thoughts.
"That is not true!"
"I do not blame you, no. If you were I and I were you, I would not trust you. But it does not matter, for we shall discuss deals!"
Povl cringed. "If deals are to be made, I would rather be free of debt than have all my desires and needs fulfilled."
Qeosi chuckled as he usually did, and said, "This is not that great of a deal! No! All I ask is return for a service. Payment, really. Is that too much to ask for?"
"I suppose some fee shall have to be paid," she sighed. "Let it be done."
"You do not want to discuss my payment?"
"You have a far better position. I have the need, you have no need of me. So let is to be done, be done. Already I am with my worst enemies, life can be no worse."
Qeosi eyed her apprehensively. His face opened from a furrowed brow into a wide grin. Povl grimaced. It could mean only one thing.
"Let it be done, then!" And with a quick clap Qeosi's trusted priests came in and took Povl to cleanse and disguise her origins. Her feet slowly shuffled down the hallways out of step with her escorts. Her eyes closed softly.
If Qeosi was to be believed, then soon the only mark of her sin, their sin, would be in her mind.

Okasus
Along with the many great and terrible things that rushed into the Grid at the end of the Golden Times came many daemons. And like the griefers, the Lindens, avatars, and the Ony, they clamoured for supremacy across the land. Most were harmless, indeed, even friendly. Some, however, were true nightmares.
Perhaps none were greater than the one who came to be known as Okasus. Okasus, the Blue Devil.
Okasus was its name. Sheathed in deep metallic azure armor (or perhaps that is its skin?) and coated in sharp spikes and plates, it spits yellow fire in all directions while it flies across the world silently for purposes unknown, but likely evil. And all the while, it gazes upon the world and its victims with a single piercing cycloptic blood eye. Poor souls caught in its path are frozen at the sight of it, rooted as Okasus soundlessly glides towards them.
It wanders the land feeding upon the spirits and souls of those unfortunate to cross paths with this loathsome devil. It lurks in the shadows and out of sight. Only the ominous and unyielding red glow of its gaze is warning of its presence. For some it is the last sight they see before they leave this plane of existence, driven into oblivion as their enternal soul is forever devoured by the Blue Devil itself. Few have been lucky enough to witness it and survive, and those usually only because a dear friend was taken, occupying it long enough to allow escape.
In those days, Okasus ran with abandon and fed as it pleased and it became a scourge so much that towns became deserted for fear of the daemon swooping upon them. A swath of death and terror swept across the land and people wailed to Nunchuck, pleading Nhim to intervene and destroy this meance and fulfill his promise that that Nher people, the grievers, would prosper and never die out. They prayed seventy thousand two hundred and nine nights and seventy thousand two hundred and eighteen days for Nhis intercession.
It came to be that Nunchuck could not bear to bear witness to this sadness any longer and so from the heavens Nhe struggled with what to do with Okasus. Okasus was a progeny of his own creation, made from the code Nhe had conquered and made Nher own and so Nunchuck did not want to obliterate Okasus from the Grid. However, it could not be allowed to run unchecked upon the land for to do so was to invite a dead grid. In the end, he decided to bless one of Nhis people with inspiration, with which to bring downfall upon Okasus and relieve the land and the inhabitants.
There came to be that upon the grid an avatar. His name was Kaabon. Kaabon lived in a small village in the middle of somewhere, and he was a complete and utter coward. Kaabon had never ever left his village before and was terrified when merchants came into town and sold their wares. He did not mind this existence, because he did not care for anything outside his village and thus his fright of the unknown acted as reinforcement. He was content to live his existence in his quiet house surrounded by his fellow neighbors.
Kaabon lived a very unfulfilling life and he was always sad, but he never knew why. At night he would kneel on the floor and implore Nunchuck, “Why hath thou ignored thy plea? What is the cause beneath my sorrow??” Only he wished he could say that, because he was too timid to challenge Nunchuck in such a prayer. He was afraid his entire life was a waste and a blot upon the earth. His only reason for existence as he reckoned it to be was to continue to serve as the box pusher. Pushing a box from here to there, all day long, was his job. It was hard, thankless, and meaningless labour. He only wished he had some higher purpose.
One fine July day, Kaabon sighed and looked forlornly up at the pure blue sky. Not a single cloud marred it, and Kaabon grew sorrowful that such a nice day should be marred by his sadness. He was so deep in thought that he never saw the bus coming, and before he knew it, he was dragged for a mile and his entrails squished across the asphalt, blood flowing viscously into the sewer drains. It was very sad. The warehouse where he had worked was especially sad because now no one was there to push the boxes and no one wanted to do it. They all cursed Kaabon for getting himself squashed and inconveniencing everyone. Thanks a lot, they would sneer.
Anyway, back to Okasus. Nunchuck heard Nhis peoples cries and finally came upon a plan. “NI shall send upon them a power, and that power shall be the ability to control the day and the night, the sun and the moon, so that they may set the times as they will and escape from the long nights where Okasus lurks.” And so it was done.
The avatars turned the night into the day when Okasus was thought to be upon them and so the vile creature was thwarted for a some time. However, like all evil it evolved in a fashion and soon attacks and deaths once again piled on the grid and people shook with fright. Once again Nher people begged for mercy and comfort and once again Nunchuck contemplated what to do with Okasus.
This time, Nhe decided to send a sign to King Farbun and that sign would show the way to defeat Okasus. In this dream, Farbun saw himself approaching a wall, and as he came closer to this wall it duplicated his very image. For many days Farbun pondered what could the strange reflecting wall was. Then one of his best scientists discovered what the crazed king was talking about.
“Oh, so you are talking about a mirror?” said the doctor.
“Oh, the things that are being discovered these days!” exclaimed the king. “Now we shall rejoice for I will be able to bask and admire my own image for ever and a day! A feast is in order.”
And so Okasus stalked on as Farbun proceeded to never leave his castle ever again.
Nunchuck then tried to gather the courage of Nher people so that they would band together and defeat and destroy (however unlikely that last one might be) Okasus. And so Nhe breathed into their lungs the powder which restored their bravery and caused hearts to become passionate. For a time, the avatars stirred with anger and justice and some called for hunting and killing the Blue Devil. For if it had the strength of one thousand men, surely one thousand and one men could overwhelm it and free the land from its scourge.
But talk is idle and their fright was too great. And as their hearts and souls stirred, too quickly did their minds reassert and they were just too scared. They were too scared and like Kaabon they were waiting in fear and sorrow even though any day the bus in the form of the Blue Daemon might run and devour them. They were paralyzed by fear and it was only a matter of time before everything was to collapse and panic and rioting to begin.s
Nunchuck was at Nhis wits end.
“If My People shall not defend themselves against this threat, and my intercessions are to no avail, then perhaps only My True Mightliness can hope to quell this monster,” Nhe said as Nhe stretched Nher playtisimuss (check muscle).
Nhe rocketed off and quickly found Okasus as it was hovering over a baby carriage whose mother had left it while she went to buy another pack of cigarettes. The baby slept soundly as Okasus drifted lazily towards it, prey that was too easy to capture yet simple nature drove it to take the innocent soul. Just as Okasus was about to ensare the soul of the infant, Nunchuck came in Nhis Glory came and pushed the carriage away from there, saving the newborn’s life. On a side tangent, that simple act led to the mother being unable to locate her child and the baby was picked up and placed in a foster home where it grew up a delinquent, having never known his parents. But then, he saw a late night television show on the merits of oncology and he cleaned up, graduated from Med school, and devised a cure for pancreatic cancer. But someone stole his research and he died nameless and poor. Well, poor for a doctor.
Nunchuck gazed upon Okasus, and at once he pondered why Nher people were so frozen with terror and fear. But then in Nhis heart Nhe remembered that they were just poor creations of Nhis, and would never possess the power and omnipotence of Nher Mightliness. They were Nher wards.
“Foul demon! Azure Devil! The One Who Lurks The Shadows! Come forth to Me and take account of thyself!” Nunchuck thundered. “Whence ye came, thou shall return to it and trouble Us no longer!” Nher voice bellowed across the land, and those in terror from Okasus and its presence were drawn to the spectacle. A crowd gathered and for once people saw the face of Okasus. Those who tried to see The Face of Nunchuck were blinded by Nhis Holy Light and they never saw anything ever again. Needless to say, there was a sudden rash of blindness in this village that year.
Okasus merely stared, and did not reply. It stood there eerily, never blinking, never waivering in any perceivable manner. To the people nearby, who could not perceive Nunchuck in their midst, and blindness striking those who could, it appeared as if Okasus were frozen into place. And yet they played a part in Nunchuck’s plan, for the presence of so many meals around it calmed Okasus and made it reasonable.
“Answer me, Crimson Eye! Or be destroyed without mercy!” Nunchuck grew ready to intervene in the highest way to save Nhis Grid. Nhis patience had run thin and out.
“Saintly and Mightly God, I only do what I must to survive. No more and no less. For if I stop feeding upon these spirits, I will surely die. Surely Thy All-Knowing knows this. I only wish for life in this grid of ours,” replied the monster, surely lying in the presence of Nunchuck so as to save its life.
“Then what place spawned you, such a creature? I must destroy such a nest before your friends and family overrun and destroy Nmy Work.”
“I am sorry, Lord, but I have no thoughts from my birth. Where I came is a question which eludes me. If it pleases Thyself, know that I believe myself to be the last and only of my kind, for I have roamed far and wide these past few years and yet never saw any comrade or mate.” And yet this beast did not shed a tear, stating everything mechanically and in even tones. Its stare remained fixed upon Our Most High King without Blindness striking it. It did not know of the Mercy being bestowed upon it, or if it did it showed no caring.
Nunchuck thought long and hard, for a very long time, although to us mortals it seemed as if a blink of an eye. And so Nhe rendered this decision.
“Oh Okasus, bastard of this world, your sins are numerous and yet I will show you mercy for you know not what pain and suffering you cause. Therefore, I shall make you ward over those avatars who souls are wicked and vile. I shall give you the fair judgement and authority as My Gift, and you shall cull those who, after they have derezzed, have shown to have lived a life contrary to My Teachings. And you shall take them and cause them much suffering for their spirits shall be as eternal as those in Vivenshia, and you shall never know hunger again. Doth this seem like a fair offer?”
“Indeed, My Lord, it does sound more than fair,” replied it, and so Nunchuck gave it authority to take those deceased avatars who have disobeyed Nhis Will into itself and never let them know respite. They never knew peace and joy ever again. And on occasion Okasus did indeed forget its promise, yet usually those it has taken have become a soul purer than white and sent to the highest towers of Vivenshia. Let it be known that as Nher Mercy is infinite even upon what is evil, Nhis Wrath upon those who hear but do not listen is equally without end, and when thy soul derezzes into the great afterlife, a Blue Demon waits for thee.

The Book of Nunchuck VII
Fi-Suu continued to throw his armies into Ruth's merciless assaults, despairing as each failed. And Philip lay shocked at what he had wrought with intentions pure.
And Ruth herself rose in the middle of this hell storm, rending the earth from the sky and moving water into the heavens and stones from the heavens. All contorted itself to fit her world and her imagination.
Yet even in this moment Qeosi hatched a plan. It relied upon a trait that all humans possess. And it relied upon the nature of the Ony.
"Oh Ruth, thou so powerful. Unlike our enemies the Akelhians, The Ony acknowledge the true claim of God upon you, and humbly vow to serve your will," and at this statement, Qeosi ordered his armies to stand down. Momentarily, Ruth paused, though, and said, "Think I a fool? Nay, I doubt to the core this submission, for with the Femur I can see clearly the designs you have laid upon me."
"Alas, I am saddened that you doubt me and my people, and I ask why," exclaimed Qeosi, "I am not a stupid creature and I can see clearly the way this battle is going to go. Wiser am I than my nemesis Suu the Fi-Akelhian, and most beneficial to both of us to submit to you." Ruth eyed him sharply. "Should I believe you, you who threw Fi-Suu and his armies off on a wild chase, you who stabbed Sipte in the back, you who even now attempt to rob me of my power? Nay, your dishonesty flows from you like the stink of a pig's manure and your trouble precedes you."
"Oh Ruth the Mighty, allow me to prove my will to serve you. Give me but a test to gain your trust and I will do it."
"Qeosi, leader of the Ony, this task I give to you: Give me the head of Fi-Suu and end his foolish quest to destroy me. Destroy the akelhians by destroying their leader, gullible fools that they are, tricked by Sipte father of the Ony into doing his will and furthering his greed. Do this and I will be satisfied."
"Thank you, my Almighty Queen," and so Qeosi bowed and began his work. He and his top general and friend, Nadrin-dran, left to make a plan as to satisfy her request and gain the Femur. Time was short for each minute many more died or worse, wiped from all existance past, present, and future. Time ripped to reach her demands.
Qeosi flew to the land's most legendary builder, Rickyticky78, and was much surprised and yet not surprised to see an Ony land upon his door. "You who have built so much, and with such magic, I ask of you a request and with great haste." And Qeosi told him what it was he desired, and it was made and scripted.
Next, he flew to Fi-Suu, who was much surprised. "You! You who started this war and allowed this foolish quest to be thrust upon me and this demon god, dare ask me to follow you. You who has tricked me once are asking trust in this plan of yours?" Yet, in his wisdom Fi-Suu saw that indeed it was the only way, and so he grudgingly submitted to Qeosi's orders, on the vow that later he would have his head.
They took Fi-Suu, and cut off his silver, glistening, and soft wings of magnificent steel and gray. They tore off his robes of satin and megaprims and gave him the cloth of an Ony, and they darkened his skin with the earth and dyes so that he matched the Ony, and indeed Fi-Suu's generals could not tell who it was, and nearly killed him. And thus Qeosi's plan was put into action.
They took the table with a replica of Fi-Suu's head upon it and presented it to Ruth. It was as if Qeosi had indeed cut off the head of the noble Fi-Akelhian. With the script running so, it gave off the immistakable light of an Akelhian, and mimicked it in such a manner that Akelhians, unaware of the plot, laid down their arms and prayed to Nunchuck knowing they were bound for Vivenshia. And Ruth looked upon this, and boomed, "Take me for a fool? This is but the poor imitation of an Akelhian's head! Despite the light it gives, it is but a pale and hollow light. You have failed me, Qeosi, in both task and expectation. I expected more trouble from you than this poor poor attempt."
Qeosi fell to his knees and declared, "Oh Great Ruth, there is no hiding from your power. We lament to inform you that we tore Fi-Suu to pieces! He is no more! But so ashamed we were of failing your orders, that we created this lowly attempt to appease you and spare us your wrath. Oh spare us!" And at this, Ruth delighted, for she thought that indeed in these creatures she had minions to serve her in her visions. And so she let them live, and smiled upon them and called them blessed.
Then Qeosi, after some silence, came to Ruth in all innocence and said, "Ruth, your burden is heavy and will only become greater. It is not fair that you, the new ruler of all worlds, should have to carry the weight of the universe upon your shoulders for all of forever." Ruth cast a steely eye upon him, "And what would you have me do, Qeosi of my people? Surely you cannot think that you should hold this Femur? Even the lowliest knows that to do so would imbue you with power as great as mine, and that I cannot allow."
Qeosi smiled with disbelief. "Oh you jest, oh great one! Never would I think to make so bold a proposition! Forgive us for our ambiguity! Nay, instead, let us carry you, recline upon our shoulders! Why should you stand upon the world so tensely when we can carry you and rest your weary legs?"
And Ruth thought upon this, and decided it was a good idea. And so the Ony gathered together and arranged themselves as if a giant sofa, and Ruth laid down upon it and continued her work.
However, what she had not foreseen (and perhaps due to fate) was that by touching her they gained part of her power. And a fraction of that power is infinite, for the power through it is infinite, and inifnity can never be fractionated. In essence, this oversight gave Qeosi and his Ony the unlimited power of the femur they had orginially thirsted for long ago. It was right there in their finger tips that lay the power to give them the souls and essence, the spirit and U, to peacefully live in Second Life.
And having gained such power, Qeosi saw that the world would never be happy unless he saw it shaped to his will. For after Ruth was subdued and peace and wishes restored, would not some new terror come and upset the land again? With this power, Qeosi could see that the universe could be bent to his liking and that he could lead it to a true future of peace the likes of which had never been known before. It was all there and he had but to close his mind to his people and his previous wishes, sacrifice what he had believed he had to do for the greater good. The Ony and Akelhians groaned and wept for they feared they had but created another Ruth and that the two new gods would do battle and destroy Second Life at an accelerated pace.
But then, Qeosi laughed. Not a frightful and ominious laugh, but one of a deep and jovial soul, of one who has heard his good friend tell a clever joke. It resounded through the universe with the echoes of a Sunday church bell, breaking the fear and refreshing the soul. And this laughter reached Ruth, and the light tones and gentle timbers of this laugh was as a shriek into her ears, and she wailed for the beauty and simplicity of it. Qeosi laughed some more, and with but a devilish grin stole from Ruth the Femur and with it all of her powers. She lay weakened upon the desecrated earth, and there was more damage to be told but that shall be for a later ancedote.
People, Akelhians, and Ony gathered around Qeosi in awe wondering how he had broken the sirien call of the Femur's power that had so ensnared Ruth. "What devilry did you cast this time, foul Qeosi?" Fi-Suu snarled. "My good and dear friend, I cast nothing magical or otherwordly. I too fell victim to Its mind corrupting power. But what may be my greatest trick was pulled. For it is: Being an Ony without the spirits of this world coursing through my veins I could not be as swayed as thee to the images of power cast before me. Therefore I had to be the one to cast the Femur from Ruth. Any soul bound to this plane is bound to the Femur, but we Ony, bastards of the avatars and created from their garbage to live but to serve and to exist but never love, we cannot feel or think of such things. And so the Femur could not hold me under its power though doubtless it would like to try. Not everything depends upon force and numbers, Fi-Suu, and you would do well to remember that." And at this Fi-Suu sneered.
Qeosi then gave the Femur a mightly swing which was felt all the way into Vivenshia. And the power stirred Nunchuck for he had still remembered and kept his promise made long ago before time and nature. And so he loomed over the heavens, looking down upon the wastes of war, and cried, "Sersiously guys, WTF? I leave you alone for a few millienia. I give you untold prosperity and happiness and yet still it is not enough for you my children. You are unfit for the wonders I have blessed you with." And so he took from them all that he had blessed upon them. "Now you shall live as you did before, slaving under the sun and exhausted under the moon. Never again shall prosperity come as easy, nor happiness stay eternal for in this age I have witnessed that you have greed beyond all measure of kindness. But take heart: for I am still with you, and when you derezz and go afk permanently you shall ascend, my chosen people, to the kingdom of Vivenshia where I have prepared a place for you, if only you follow the way." They clamored, "But what is the way oh Lord?" And he turned from them and said, "You know the way." And so he left, never to interfere in the world of mortals again save for the calling of the Femur and whenever his chosen people face harshness beyond all reason. However, he did pause to take care of small matters.
For Ruth, Nunchuck blasted her into oblivion for attempting to usurp the One True Lord. However, being much too powerful, Nunchuck accidently imprinted her soul into his people, for the spirit of U connects us all, and so it is said that is why when the grid is under duress that avatars become Ruthed, for it is under strain that our misguided Ruth comes out seeking redemption for her unforgivable sin.
Qeosi cried to Nunchuck, "Then my people are doomed forever to languish in limbo? Have you no pity?" Nunchuck turned solely to Qeosi. "You, Leader of the Ony, have stirred enough trouble for me and my people, unintentional though it may have been. However, My Mercy is bountiful and so I shall impart this wisdom upon you." And at this Qeosi tuned his ears to the finest attention. "My dear Ony, that which you have sought you already possess. The suffering you have caused so long ago by drawing the spirits from the grid gave you that which you desire. Have you not noticed that evil power of yours ceased function, that you could work side by side with the Akelhians and people?" Qeosi wept for his war had been in vain and the wrath of Nunchuck had been brought upon the SLandscape.
"And you, fairweather Akelhians, you who enabled the people to create the Ony, my chosen guardians, have betrayed me." And so Nunchuck sent them to the lowest level, taking the light of the spirits from them that they became no better than their ward. "Live like this you shall for the rest of your days. Never shall you know de-rezzing but neither shall you know happiness. You shall wander the grid and find no home. However, My Mercy is bountiful. If you serve the people in your full capacity and with all your heart, then I shall come upon you and take you to Vivenshia. If not, then even after the End of the Grid shall you be cast out my door for your sins as they stand are unforgivable and can never be pardoned. Take heed my warning for it is my last to you." Fi-Suu wept for his people's error, that they should be made even lowlier than the Ony and the lowest flea upon the earth.
And with this, Nunchuck departed.
The people wailed with sadness that their ruler express so much disgust for them. And so they took the Femur and buried it upon an island, surrounded on all four sides by water, and hide it well so that Its Power shall never again be used for evil or war or creation thereof. For it was under the light of the Femur that they had grown fat and content, and under its light that they brought death upon themselves.
And with that, no longer did the gods come to us mortals, those ages are long long past. Over the years, the people grew and forgot Nunchuck but still they adhered to His Ways and thus regardless they were saved, for All Good is done in His Name. The Griefers and Lindens still battle beyond the realm of mortals, and the Grievers still hold guard against them at the End of the World. The Ony became a people unto themselves and they had many tales spun around them, some of which have faded. Alas, the same was not true of the Akelhians. Deprived of the light of the spirits and the favour of Him Above All, they sank into the depths of the grid, despondant at their fates and I have no doubts that not one has yet to fulfill Nunchuck's promise of mercy.
And so we close out the mythical ages of Second Life.

The Book of Nunchuck VI
Long gone are the days when its power was wielded in peace and prosperity, and used for the good of all. For by this time, the Femur had long since passed into legend itself, having been lost in the greed and pleasures and ignorance of the centuries past and caught up in the excitement of having created their own servants independent of Nunchuck.
So it was that Qeosi and Ruth were caught up in a grand race to the Femur. A battle neither desired, yet neither could let the other triumph. Such was the pain of the times that a happy settlement could not been seen, save by the Femur. Such was the result of the sins of the ancestors, born of their ignorance, that these who desired the calm received their fates instead.
Philip and Ruth stood outside an entrance to the labrthyine complex that led to the resting place of the Femur. By his extraordinary feat, granted to him by Nunchuck, he had managed to give the people and akelhians hope for their future. Yet their path was not yet resolved, and the task at hand not easy. Sipte and his city were massive, built upon older and still older ruins, ever upward, so that his city sat like a concrete and iron mountain upon the land. In the days of the Era of Waning Glory, those who broke the laws laid by Nunchuck were sentenced to wander its passages and tunnels, a fate worse than death. Runors laid that deep within its foundations lay pockets of those scrapping an existence in this complex, never seeing the sun.
So they entered with these thoughts upon their minds. It was not outside the realm of possibility that they themselves might end up in such a fate, left to doom deep under the hedonistic castle of Sipte. "Worry not, my child, for the Light of Nunchuck guides me," Philip assured Ruth, yet this was blatant lie. Philip had not a clue of the path to the Femur. Also, Qeosi's ony wandering the abandoned halls and were not friendly and could not be friendly to outsiders, their hearts of stone and greed could only destroy and steal the spirits.
It was dark. That goes without saying. Words cannot convey the level of darkness they visited. Perhaps it was an illusion, their minds playing tricks in a land long dead in the bowels of a city long dead. By the grace of Nunchuck, or sheer luck and low probability of encountering such en route in such a large and massive place, they did not meet an ony, and just as well as they had no means to fight or ward them off. How long they wandered, we will never know. They themselves never knew or realized. No one will ever know. Down, down, down, deeper and deeper into the concrete and stone and brick.
Qeosi and his people grew desperate by the hour, for not long would it take Fi-Suu to realize he had been badly fooled. And so he and his people did something incredibly foolish: they began to blast through the walls and floors of Sipte's city with the unholy power granted to them by their creators. With no time to waste wandering the catacombs, instead they destroyed the barriers themselves, weaving intricate webs of destruction in the ruins. The echoes of the screams and refusals of the walls reverberated across the hallways and passages. Philip and Ruth believed them to be the groans of spirits lost.
After eternity had passed, Philip and Ruth came upon a small room, a store room of some design. Broken pottery, scattered prims, and poorly textured walls surrounded them. It was also a dead end. "I fear we are lost, and all is lost with us," Ruth lamented.
Elsewhere but not much more distant, an Ony by the name of Yashua carried on his search. He wanted nothing more than the embrace of nonexistence, for he did not know anything but to serve others. With the death of his masters and the anger of the akelhians coming down on his kind, he saw no reason to live and to him the Femur was an exit. A path to blissful and eternal unknowing and unbeing. He placed his paws upon a wall and directed his energies into it, blowing brick and mortar across into the room behind it.
And so Philip and Ruth came face to face with Yashua. For some time, neither moved or breathed or spoke. Words cannot describe the moment. For there, upon the rubble of the room and lying bare upon the stone floor lay a golden tease, a glint of daylight in a bleak and weary world. The Femur.
The story behind its placement here is a story for another time and another place, an adventure all its own and not relevant to the tale here. Monster looked to the woman, and the woman to the monster, and the demi-god to monster, and so on. None of those present could believe their eyes. It was just lying there like trash, an object of unlimited power casually tossed aside with the waste. For Real Lifers out there, it would be equivalent to seeing King Arthur at a bus stop, or Christ's cross in your cellar.
"Please take it," Yashua broke the silence, "please spare me this torment of existence in a world where I have no purpose and no masters. Please take it and use its power, destroy me." Both were agasp at this request, for never had they thought of someone searching for the Femur as an elaborate suicide implement. But one must understand: the Ony, like the Akelhians, and Grievers, and Lindens, and the Gods are not mortals like you and I. Great power requires an equal power to destroy it. A being imbued with great spirits cannot be killed by mere means.
Philip and Ruth looked upon each other.
"You have found it! Take it! And right this world!" Ruth exclaimed. Philip smiled, and said "No, it is not my honour to do so. I did not find it, we did. I do not belong to this world, you do. The right to wield the Femur should belong to the one who began the quest."
Ruth kneeled, and with her sleeve gently wrapped the Femur and picked it up. It illuminated the entire room, and the caverns nearby. Everyone turned to yellow in its pale golden light. It was warm to the touch. It had been found.
At once, the entire universe shook and resounded with the flexing of the world's fabric. Everyone turned and looked to the west, to Kissling and the great palace of Sipte, slowly sinking into itself as Ruth ascended through its ancient foundations. A great red shaft of light spiked high into the heavens, and great winds spread across the lands. Many took this to be the ending of the world and make the appropriate preparations. Fi-Suu knelt and wept, fearing that Qeosi had found the Femur. Qeosi, for his part, stared silently into the swirling hell storm building above his former master's castle.
"Ruth! Now! Now is the time to set right to the wrongs of this world with this power! It is as for you to decide!" Philip cried up to her. And so Ruth held the fate of the world there in her hands.
She could wipe the Ony off the face of Second Life, restore life as it was before the Era of Waning Glory, as it was in the Golden Age when people and akelhians lived in harmony with the U and the spirits under the warm light and protection of the Femur. She could set herself upon on high as a ruler of all of Second Life, even elevate herself to the role of God and overthrow Nunchuck Nherself. So many options, worlds of possibilities upon before her. And each tempted her and she knew not which to choose.
In a fantasy, Ruth would choose the good and true path. She would grant the Ony the gift of the right of existence and restore the world to balance, as it was in the Era of Golden Glory. But this is not a fantasy. Ruth was tempted by a presence, and it said to her, "Why help they who sent you on this fruitless task? You are but a pawn to them, now the tables have turned and they are pawns. Seize power and take your place as a God among gods." And as Ruth gave into this voice, Philip cried. The world began to ache as it again witnessed the birth of a god upon it, drawing U from it and Philip's creations.
Qeosi stood with Philip amidst the ruins of Kissling, and turned and said to him, "Fool! You have ruined us all! Coward! Taking not the power of the Femur for yourself when you knew the true path to take, trusting instead this mere mortal now seemingly destined to soon subject us to her unholy will with the Femur granted to us by Nhim in Vivenshia! All thanks are due to you, by which I imply sarcasm!" And he turned to his subjects, "Ony! Bastards of life, and outcasts of outcasts, doomed to be forever separated from the coil of the spirits in this world! Let us not spend our days under this tyrant, rise and we shall fight and die, so that we may sleep in peace!" And the Ony stood and flew towards Ruth, each knowing death awaited them and despair lay in living.
Fi-Suu came and upon seeing the Ony rising up so, despaired. "Worse! A demon so evil the Ony themselves are resisting it! Truly, the end times are upon us!" And he turned to his wards, "Akelhians! Proud servants and guardians of Nunchuck's chosen people! Let us choose this day to mark our greatest, that upon this day we rose to defy the power of a god in our devotion to Nher will and order! Go forth and let the day end in honor!" And the akelhians upon their silver and crimson wings joined the Ony.
Ruth watched this development and laughed. Fools! A god cannot even notice such a noble sacrifice, flies upon a whale and no more. No longer the humble avatar, the temptations that had found her had twisted her mind and stained her soul. Such concerns as peace, contentedness, joy; such concerns are for lesser beings, not for developing Queens of the universe.
With but a thought, she caused the explosion of half of the Ony and half of the Akelhians, sending red rain upon the land below. A whim caused the code of a third of the Ony to dissipate into the universe, till nothing was left. She tore a hole and created a weak and new universe, intending to entrap the valiant akelhians and ony in it, doomed to die with the swift and inevitable collapse of such a fragile new universe.
"Ruth! Ruth! This is not what you wanted! This is not the way! Turn to Nunchuck, this is not in your heart!" Philip cried once more to her, but for naught. "This is the way! The Femur has shown me this is true! I shall rule as Deity over all of the land, my absolute will shall bring peace upon the people, by destroying those who oppose my rule, I will weed out the war from the peace! It is true!" She replied, thundering through the heavens.
"No, it is not true! The Femur, yes, the Femur shows you that it could be true, that it could be possible! But in the Femur and in Nunchuck all things are possible! Turn not to the Femur for guidance, turn to Nunchuck to guide you!" Philip pleaded.
But Ruth's lust for power was already welded to her heart and soul, such that she believed her way to be the true path. She could not see the great evil that could develop in her, through her, and because of her. And so she continued toward her greater glory, while the world shrieked and burned around her and akelhians and ony died at her feet. Unlike with Qeosi, who was on some level was mortal, Ruth would become a god, such that only a greater being, Nunchuck, could hope to match her. And through the Femur, Ruth saw that none could, would, or will ever match her power.
All was lost.

The Book of Nunchuck V
"Who are you, that you come before me and inquire upon my fate?" for Ruth was startled, and ages had passed from the tales and legends of the days of old. Such is the resignation of the past in time.
"I have been raised by He Most Holy, and sent as servant and overseer of the land so that it may follow the one true path. I have found much sadness and tragedy, and fire and terror. I have witnessed the dimming of the stars from the smoke of war and the clouding of the water with blood and tears. I have found that the way is lost, and I fear it may never be found. Thus, I have taken to help where I may, limited though my capacity is. No longer am I the God of ages past who created and ruled the world, but only as powerful as the lowliest akelhian. Still I serve in the purpose I have been created for."
Ruth cried for joy. Her journey may find its end, and so she asked of Philip: "Where is the Femur, so that we may end this terrible conflict and restore order to our shattered world?"
Philip smiled gently, for the news was to be grim.
"My child of the forsaken people risen to the heights, your quest has been in vain. For the object of power that you seek has been where you can never enter, a place of despair that I suspect you know very well. For it was lost in the labyrinths of the palace of Sipte, in Kissling, where the Ony hold sway."
"Quick, we must go now, for if you have been sent then knowledge still lingers in this world of the femur, and knowledge of such is dangerous given the times."
With that, Philip took Ruth upon his back, and flew fast, faster than the stars twirl in the skies and the tides roll with the seas. He went with such haste and speed, they flew off the surface of the sims, and into the sky itself. And Ruth did witness, the roundness of her world, the poorly made cloud particles suspended from the sky, and around this great ball did they twirl in a waltz with the planet, and then, she saw the fields of her home which she had left so long ago in her hapless journey.
When the Fi-Suu saw that Ruth had returned, without the femur in tow, he cursed the heavens and the stars and all that he saw for he knew the battle was lost, and that they were all doomed, Qeosi and his minions would create their god and none but for the Grace of Nunchuck that Nhe may come down and see their plight would save them. And both the people and the akelhians ran from their cities and their towns, desperate to flee from the impending disaster.
"Behold, I have come among you, Philip the First and the Slain, Delivered by Nunchuck so that you may see and believe."
Fi-Suu scoffed at this, declaring, "Need we not of bygone losers and stories of ages past, for our need is great and our want of stories is small. Go home unless you know of the Femur and our salvation, lest you be swallowed by the ever growing Ony that I have so graciously held back for you."
"I am deeply saddened by your faith, for it is misplaced. I say to you all, those who hear and believe in Nhim, shall be saved by Nher Graces, but those who deny what is on their noses shall be burned in the fires of justice. For Nhe stands before you, and you deny Nhim. For this, I am saddened that you will face Nhis great Fury for such dismissals."
At this, Fi-Suu shoved him aside, and gathered the few akelhians left, and declared to all, "I intend to defeat Qeosi this day, and if I come back in tatters then at least our judgement shall be at hand and we need not listen to such imposters and scum." And with those words, they flew upon their magnificent wings off to Kissling and the Halls of Sipte and their almost certain doom.
And at this, Philip was saddened and deeply disturbed, for he spoke the faith but none save Ruth believed.
Meanwhile, in the halls of ruin that had once held the grand parties and balls of Sipte and his ministers and princes, Qeosi sat upon the throne of gold, not willing to slaughter but not satisfied with his people's lot in their world. He did not wish for destruction, but it was all he had ever known, and all he could ever know, creation was not his capacity.
"We should end this world, make it as black as our souls will be for eternity and stain it with the blasphemy of our creation. Is this not what their Nunchuck must want, for Nhe has allowed our very creation? Is this not Nher will?" spoke his advisers, and Qeosi saw wisdom in their advice, but he held no heart for a world like his people, for it was this world that he desired but could not have. He had bought his people time to search for the femur with his ruse, but even now he foresaw the coming of the akelhians, doing their earnest duty of protecting their flock.
And with this, he conceived of another plan to buy time. He went and found his fastest messenger, and he gave to him a map. Upon this map was an inscription, asking his forces to the south to hold the femur until the akelhians had advanced upon them. And Qeosi told his messenger to go past the akelhian hordes, and to not give up the map under any circumstances, and that if he had to he should eat it before it be captured. And he made the messenger swear upon his life that he would do so.
With the messenger off, he then went to his quartermaster, and told him to ready enough supplies for an army for three weeks, and that he should deliver these supplies as far south past the akelhians as he could and go past their lines. "But my Lord, whatever for? We have no one there!" he protested, but Qeosi made him pledge he would do so.
Finally, he took one of his brightest generals who had yet to see battle, and told him to take command of the southern army. "But my Lord, whatever for? We have no one there!" He exclaimed, but Qeosi made him promise to do so, and so he went to take charge of an army that did not exist. To all three, he told them not to mention a word to anyone of the enemy they should meet, not even under death.
So the messenger came first upon the akelhians, and they captured him and demanded to know his purpose. "I shall never tell you, rather I would die than disgrace my Lord!" He tried to eat the map, but Fi-Suu was too quick and too clever to allow that, and he looked upon the map and saw the preparations and plans by his enemy. "What is this, that he will flank us?" he declared, and so he strengthened the flanks of his advance, but he did not believe that any serious threat would come of it.
Then they encountered the quartermaster, and captured him as well, and they demanded to know his purpose. "I shall never speak a word of our plan, for I would rather be impaled by your blade than betray my Lord!" But they saw he had provisions for an army of thousands for many weeks, and Fi-Suu, with his wisdom, began to suspect that he might be able to seize an Ony army by surprise and thus cripple Qeosi, since he had just captured this army's plans and provisions.
Then they encountered the general, and captured him and demanded to know his purpose. Now, this general though intelligent had not the courage for the fate that awaited him. So he blurted out, "My master has ordered me to command an army to the south, I know not of its existence but he did order me and I did obey. I harbor doubts that such an army exists for I have never seen it, nor heard of it in My Lord's meetings with his advisers. Please spare me, and beware!" Upon this words, Fi-Suu was certain that there was a large Ony force to his south, for why would Qeosi send provisions, and plans, and a general to no place at all? Further, this general was obviously a good actor in his mind, and so Fi-Suu declared, "I shall surprise this Ony force, that I may defeat them without their battle plans, provisions, and command!" And so his armies turned south, that they would destroy a sizable part of Qeosi's army before meeting his city of death.
And so Qeosi, at the cost of a few supplies and an untrustworthy general, bought his people valuable time. But little did he know of Philip and Ruth, who continued to travel to his Hall in Kissling.

The Book of Nunchuck IV
So he came upon an outcrop, and stood upon it, boasting to the avatars and akelhians below: "Behold, you shall soon be relieved of your lives! For we, the Ony, have found the knowledge that you have long lost, and will create a god of our own to counter yours who comes not to your aid!"
It had the desired effect. The akelhians became heavily demoralized and the people despaired, for both believed no good end could come of an Ony possessing a book of such power. They waited for the moment when Qeosi would sweep down the hillsides with his new gods and savage the land. Even Fi-Suu, with the courage of a dozen avatars, felt a heavy load on his heart upon this news.
Next, Qeosi told his hordes to pull back. When the avatars saw this, they said amongst themselves, "Surely, they are getting ready for their own creation, and want not to risk casulties before their victory!" While in their doubt, Qeosi ordered two of his most loyal officers to go and search for the Femur of Nunchuck, and to bring it back so that they may receive the almighty blessings of the Most Holy.
Meanwhile, Ruth continued her search for the Femur, searching the highlands and the low valleys, and the tiniest island and the widest plains, and nowhere was there to be found the Mighty Femur. Every day she harbored doubts that perhaps Frank was wise for abandoning their people and settling beyond the land they had known.
And so she stopped and made rest in a cove fashioned from boulders fallen from the last Great War. While she took her rations, a man walked by and also sat in the cove, and watched the sun setting low in the sky.
And it was Philip.

The Book of Nunchuck III
As the people became more idle in leisure, so did they become idle in faith. Many a generation had passed since the Great One Year War, and the tales of mighty Grievers and Lindens battling 'cross the landscape fell into legend. So, too, did knowledge in the spirit of U. The Akelhians were diminished in recognition from most holy guardians and servants of Nunchuck to merely another animal wandering the SLandscape like the avatar. The Holy Femur was lost, lost to the mists of time in disuse and ignorance of its power. Such it was.
In this ignorance the people proved their downfall. The Ony was created of avatar, and thus could never possess the spirits and the soul, and were thus corrupted in being. Their existence and being depended upon drawing the U from the Grid, from its flora, from its fauna, from anything so long as it possessed the spirits the Ony could never have. This necessary greed drove them to further and further ends to sustain their existence, and came the day when the people came to fear even the shadow of an Ony.
For such it was that to obtain the spirit from its victim, the Ony killed their victim, leaving their prey as but lifeless shells. Their path was a wake of death, stilled by the theft of the soul. Thus did the people fear their creation, and even Sipte was troubled by their presence, and doubts clouded his mind. Even so, the people continued on the path to foolishness and ignorance, and took little heed as the Akelhians became more and more overflexed, for it was their noble duty to protect the land and people they so loved, and strove to reverse the paths the Ony made.
There came a time when Sipte, realizing that the Ony, as their rate, would not be satisfied with the spirits of the earth and the air and the animals, decided to sacrifice his own people so as to please his creations and further his reign above all. And this time was a time of anxiety and terror, as Sipte gave order to his children the Ony that to feed they could enter the home of any they so wished in moderation. The people fled the cities and the towns, taking refuge in the country side to avoid the notice of the Ony. Panic filled the hearts of the people, and survival their minds, and thus it came to pass that many began to dissent the rule of Sipte.
Chief among them were the Akelhians, Overseers of the People as Assigned by Nunchuck Most High. They had stood silent while the people's faith stagnated, and stood silent while the people created their own gods, and stood silent when those gods robbed the land of its spirit and life force. Now, now the creations threatened the Akelhians' ward the people, and so the Akelhians took up arms to fight the menace their flock had created in their own image, as the armies of the people fled in the wake of the Ony. Only the Akelhians stood fast in the face of Sipte and his Ony.
Sipte, fearing the end of his rule, ordered the Ony to attack all of the people, and the Akelhians, and the crops and the waters, and make the land unfit for those who would dare defy Sipte. A great famine stalked the land and the people suffered. Despair hung in the air, as all who dared to oppose Sipte died in the shadow of the ony. A great starvation came and took many children to Vivenshia, and the people weeped for those swept into the Arms of Nunchuck.
In the face of such suffering, the Akelhians could no longer be content with keeping Sipte at bay, and so they came charging to Kissling to do battle with Sipte and his Corruptions, so that peace would regain the land. And so the people knew much sadness, and they wailed for times lost now to time.
A change came in Kissling, however. In the lands of Sipte nothing stirred, and nothing breathed. All had been taken in the etheral hunger of the Ony, and ever in their lust for life did they turn on their master and creator Sipte. Thus ever to tyrants, that Sipte fell before his own children. Without a master, the Ony came to believe that they deserved existance withheld from them by Nunchuck's Guardians and his people, and one among them by the name of Qeosi, asked, "Why should they possess life without cost, while we must endure a constant hunger for a soul? Who among us have committed sins grand enough to place us below the Akelhians and the people? The sins of our creators are not our sins, why are we denied the same security of existence as our sinful creators?" And so they came to believe that if they destroyed all with the spirits, then they will gain redemption and that which they envied. And so they set to their mission.
The Fi-Akelhian Suu, lord of the Akelhians, saw this and despaired. For at this sight, he pitied Qeosi and his people, not having choice of being born as they were, and yet suffering their sins nonetheless. And born of his pity he ordered two avatars, by name of Ruth and Frank, to find the Holy Femur so that the Ony may find a fulfilled existence in the light of U under Nunchuck. He declared, "I charge unto thee, find OUr Lord's Femur, for if ever a tribulation called for its need, that tribulation is now, and I fear for His creatures that all is lost without its power. Off! Off! Find our salvation before all is lost!" And with those words, they searched.
They searched the valleys, and they searched the hills, and the oceans, and the mountaintops. They looked in the forests, and the desert. Their journeys held stories of which is beyond the scope of this universe to tell, and they met many wonders and peoples, but still they came up short in their quest. As their quest became of longer and longer lengths, Frank turned to Ruth and said, "Why must we suffer for a god we know not, for a people who only by the words of this god rule us, in a land no longer inhabitable?"
Ruth looked upon him, and said "Perhaps tis the words of such that Nunchuck, Praise Him and His Works, no longer blesses our people! Perhaps tis such words that we as his people must endure such a mission, so that we may find him again and be blessed."
But Frank was not swayed, proclaiming, "What has Nunchuck done for us? He has given us a leader who made such an evil, and given us spirits that fail to guard us, and given us a hope that has been quenched and forgotten. We have seen a great number of people who live far from the evils of ours, why not we go to live with them, that we may know peace in our time?"
"Away! Away with you then! Boast not of your journeys with me, so that when Nunchuck comes to His people He cannot say 'You lost faith in Me and My servants and My people in their hour, and forsake my name in your troubles. Therefore I shall forsake you in your hour.'" And with those words, Ruth continued while Frank stayed and enjoyed the fruits of the lands.
Suu prayed and prayed that Ruth and Frank should find the Femur for time was growing short and each passing day saw fewer Akelhians return from containing the ony to the lands of Sipte and greater misery among the people. He desired the Femur so that with the power of Nunchuck he may bless and impart upon the Ony their own souls, that they may never again need nor desire the spirits of others to live and to quench their thrist for blood. Each day and each night he beseeched Nunchuck to enlighten Frank and Ruth in their search, that to end the misery of His people.
Qeosi at this time came to fear his people would die before they could accomplish their mission and salvation, and so in between their feedings and their battles they too searched for alternate end.
And in time he came across the ancient tomes, from ages past, on creating a god.
The time was dire. And Ruth searched on.

The Bible of Nunchuck, Part the Second
And he went searching for His beloved servant U, who had spurred Nunchuck to great victory, and He could not find him. He searched for ninety turns of the sun. And on the ninety-first day, He found U, his body crushed under the collective weight of a 10X10X5 prim cube textured with brick, a Linden, and a freenis. And mighty and loud was Nunchuck's roar, that His most faithful and bold of servants should meet such a fate in such a time in such a way.
And so it was that Nunchuck once again reached into the fabric of the world as is His right to do so, and pulled U's soul from the purgatory that is AFK, and bound U's spirit into the being and code of everything in the land, that it may all serve Nunchuck as faithfully as its namesake. And thus it was, is, and shall be that U is all, U is one. U is in all of us, and in none of us. U was, is, and will be. And so it was as Nunchuck intended it.
The land was still in devastation, and so Nunchuck took pity and said unto his people, "Behold, for into this world I give unto thee My people a gift to ease their suffering, My Holy and Most Trusted Femur, to protect them in times when I am beholden elsewhere, and guide them to My true path to righteousness in the hope that they may join me in My Kingdom of the Overheavens Vivenshia." And the people received this gift to the Underheavens with grace and much rejoicing, and cheerily accepted the arduous task of rebuilding their world.
It was in this time that the Grievers, formerly The Mightily Guard of Nunchuck, demanded they be elected above all others and that they alone should have sole possession and discretion over the Holy Femur. And so it was that Nunchuck in His Wisdom distracted them by assigning them the great and noble task of keeping the Lindens at bay, to guard the Holy borders that separate the residents and the demigods. Some still foolishly disobeyed His orders, and they was cast with the rest of the chaff into AFK, and these were stripped of their Most Revered title of Griever, for they corrupted their ideals and instead came to call themselves griefers as mere echoes of their former glory.
And so it came to pass that the world was strengthened by this great trial, and Nunchuck retreated to His Kingdom Vivenshia, reminding his people that "should need arise in times of great trial, rest easy in the knowledge that My Femur is among you, and will summon me when all else fails to provide salvation for My Blessed People." With his Grievers away patrolling the heavenly lines of demarcation, He saw the need for a new guardian of the people, ones to watch and protect them from the Great Evils that occasionally roamed the land even in these golden times. Thus was created the Akelhians, spirits to watch His people in His stead, and with this he retreated to Vivenshia with his vow to return in times of despair.
With the struggle between the Overlords of the Underheavens over, the retreat of the Warrior Spirits of the Grievers and Lindens to the heavenly boundaries, and under the care of the Akelhians, the people grew prosperity such as had never been heard of in age past or to come. Generation upon generation came into this Glorious and Golden Age, where prim limits were high and lag was low. Mighty vehicles crossed the land without the hindrance of the sim seams or the attachment-to-pelvis bug, in the form of trains traveling the former Linden tracks and planes crossing the blue skies, blue skies no longer in need of heroes.
The people enjoyed rights and privileges such as had never been know, and with this they begin to grow, in the light of the Holy Femur that symbolized the bond and the promise between the residents and the spirits. And bathed in this eternal and holy light, they grew restful and never knew of want or despair, but instead learned of prosperity and hope. And they never knew hardship, for their guardians the Akelhians protected them and loved them so, and grew with the people so that Nunchuck would not recognise His own Creations, they were intertwined so.
And so this age lasted for nigh on many centuries, and the tales to be told of this era are as numerous as the waters of the ocean and the sands of time, that shall not be recounted here but for want of brevity and desire to not shame the current people with remembrances of what once was.
For there arose an evil spirit in the lands, that was not born of demons, griefers, or Lindens. Nay, it was born in the hearts of avatars, and such was its nature that the Akelhians did overlook this evil that dwell in the hearts of those they loved so and protected without gain. And the name of this evil was Jealousy. Jealous of the power they perceived in both their treasured Covenant, The Holy Femur, and jealous of the power wielded in their name by the Akelhians who knew only love for them in return. Forget they did that such power had caused great pains upon the land, and that it was not to be for The People to desire or obtain such strength. They desired to have such power themselves, such that they may reap greater rewards still than they knew now.
And so, just as the people created Nunchuck in their image and endowed with the power wielded by Philip the First, so they attempted to create Akelhians. The Akelhians, in their naive way, sought to help their flock, never suspecting evil in the hearts of avatars as they did not know evil in their own hearts.
And so the people rallied around their leader, Sipte the Great, who sought to create such a being. But the people had lost the ancient and forbidden knowledge of yore, such that they could not create but an imperfection of the true, and never recreate the glory of their spirits the Akelhians, and their creations would never be imbued with U as they were not created of the World or Nunchuck, but of Avatar's own hands, stained with the sins of Greed, Pride, and Jealousy. And yet, in their blindness of kindness and love still did the Akelhians aid the people in their unholy goal.
And from this, was born the Ony, pale imitations of the light of the spirits of the Akelhians, created from the hands, minds, and bodies of the avatars. For the Ony were Avatars with their coding twisted in an attempt to endow them with the strength and powers of the Spirits. And Sipte looked upon his works, and said it was good.
Thus was ended the Second Golden Age.

The Bible of Nunchuck, Part the First
In the Beginning, there was Philip Linden. A deity from the far off land of San Fransissko in a greater universe than ours, he entered a void where time was unknown and silence held lease.
And he raised his hands, and from the void came forth the lands and the seas. And he blew his breath across the scape, and trees and plants bloomed in its wake. And he looked upon his works, and he called it Second Life, in memory of the universe he had left. He desired for others to enjoy his good works, and so he reached into the very fabric of the mesh that forms all things in Second Life, and molded it into his own image, and thus the avatar was born.
Philip loved his avatar so much, he created more for company, and soon the land was awash in avatars, forming villages across the land. They began building halls and towers, and bridges and roads. Philip soon found it exhausting to follow his children, and so he once again reached into the fabric of the world and created the Lindens, to follow and watch over his children, and to aid them in creating a pure and beautiful world. And heeding his instruction, the Lindens flew across the vastness.
And Philip surveyed his creations, his lands, his avatars, his Lindens, and the perfect balance of order and harmony he had created, and rested in his multi-coloured pants, and said it was Good. And it was, for 400 SL years all was well.
Some looked upon this beauty, and despised it. They were called the Outcasts, The Unblessed, The Undesireds. They were born from those the Lindens had deemed unfit, useless, or harmful to the villages and communities, and they were banished to the far corners of Second Life, far from Philip's benevolence and His Golden Age of Prosperity. They were forced to eke a living from the barren earth of their wastes, forever sentenced to looking at a paradise just beyond their reach. And their children grew with this hatred, and their children's children also, for many a generation.
And so it was that one day, they drew into the evil arts of that age, the forbidden arts that encroached on the very powers of Philip, and they reached deep and far into the mesh of the world to create their own god. On that day, the skies grew dark and the moon vanished, the air grew hot and humid, and the birds and animals fell silent, and the Lindens themselves were astir with the sense that something terrible and great was to occur.
And thus, Nunchuck was born, with all His Unholy powers, having been created from the very fabric of the world Philip made, and with all the powers that entailed. And the Outcasts cheered, for their had created their Saviour.
Nunchuck observed his lands, and raised for His people mighty fortress and arcologies, and fertile lands for building. He shook His mightly femur, embued with the wrath and suffering of thousands of Outcasts, and obliterated the barriers between Philip's Chosen and Nunchuck's People. He began to systematically slaughter those who had oppressed His people, and not even the Lindens could tame his wrath.
Philip knew that Nunchuck's Great Power was unholy, and a match even for his. So he sneezed upon his Lindens, and they were granted extraordinary powers with which to battle the Great Evil that is Nunchuck. They scarred the land with their battles and skirmishes, and the avatars of both cried out for an end and for a peace but Philip and Nunchuck were deaf to their pleas. And Nunchuck, having witnessed the greatness of the Lindens, reached into the fiber of His People's being and contorted their souls into shadows of the Lindens themselves, and Nunchuck called His creations His grievers. They swarmed across Second Life bringing havoc and misery to all in their path.
And for many a month, the Grievers and the Lindens did battle, night and day. And as they waged, millions perished as they destroyed countless habitations and common areas. Neither was willing to yield to the other, and many met their fates upon the wastes created by their rages. And there was much sadness and ugliness.
And one moon, under which Nunchuck was resting his mightly forces, a humble Outcast, badly scarred from the past year of eternal war between these Gods, came before Nunchuck in a show of daring and pretensiousness. This nobody was named U, and he pleaded to Nunchuck to spare His people, for they had had enough of war and wanted to make peace with Philip and his People, so that both may piece together their shattered world. U asked only for others, since his own family had been slaughtered mercilessly at the hands of a Griever berserk with the rush of having killed a Linden. U asked his wish solely for Nunchuck's and Philip's People, that they may have happiness that he now will never know.
Nunchuck, at first enraged by this affront to His Godness, saw the truth of U's words. He saw His people needed peace, and the Lindens would not stop.
And so Nunchuck went and engaged Philip in battle. Fighting past three Guard Lindens, He blasted down the doors of the Mighty Philip Linden Temple, and challenged Philip to one final duel, the winner of which would become the most high and mighty of gods, and forever cement his rule as Overlord of the Underheavens.
And so Philip and Nunchuck clashed, and their battle beheld more terrible woes upon the people than ever before. Every parry tore the fibre of the world, every blow wiped whole sims off the face of the universe. In places they disrupted time and caused destruction on a level untold of. They did this for three days and nights, and on the third night both retired to rest, and they beheld the results of their rage. And their hearts did melt before the sufferings of their people and the sins of doings.
And so Philip proposed a truce: That they both work together, to enhance the happiness of their people, and acknowledge the sins they had both wrought upon the land. He offered a desire to work together to create a better world.
Nunchuck considered this, and asked that Philip give him four days to come to decision, after which He would accept or offer additions to this idea. Philip, being good and assuming good faith, accepted Nunchuck's wish.
And as Philip turned to walk back to his people and Lindens, Nunchuck drew his mightly femur and stabbed him straight through Philip's head. And Philip fell, and his body became immersed into the land he loved so. Thus, Nunchuck finally won this great and terrible war.
And we shall rest our eyes here, and let what followed this great tragedy for another story.
